About the Expert
Jurriaan Benschop works as a writer and curator in Berlin. He grew up in Amsterdam where he studied art history at the University of Amsterdam. He was the founder of the literary art magazine Kastalia. Since 2006 he has been working and living in Berlin. His reviews can be read in Artforum International. His interviews, essays and city reports can be found in DAMN, Elephant, H-ART magazine as well as in exhibition catalogues and artist books.
The essay book Zout in de wond was first published in Dutch and launched in museum De Pont in Tilburg. The book will be published in English translation (Salt in the Wound) March 2019. See for more information and further titles the section BOOKS.

Jurriaan Benschop conducted writing workshops at the fine arts department of Indiana University Bloomington and the Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. He has been lecturing at art schools, universities and art institutions in Chicago, Detroit, Amsterdam, Tallinn, Vienna and Helsinki among other places.
